This story was blown way out of proportion by a 14 year old child! She has been spreading LIES about a wonderful organization that is ANTI SLAUGHTER! This organization is a rescue (not a sanctuary). There mission is to rescue starving horses, rehabilitate them, and attempt to get them adopted. If they operated as a sanctuary and kept every horse that couldn't get adopted or kept getting returned, they would ultimately fail at their mission because they would have to close their doors to hundreds of horses who would then starve to death, dying a long painful death. Maggie was a sweet pony, but she was at the organization for years and was not successful at getting adopted. She was HUMANELY EUTHANIZED (a quick, painless procedure). As a result, many other horses were saved from starvation and abuse, and given THEIR second chance at life. Days End is NOT pro-slaughter because the inhumane way the horses are put to death. They do, however, agree with humane euthanization as a LAST MEANS RESORT to horses that are not adoptable so that they can continue carrying out their mission and don't have to turn their backs on hundreds of innocent suffering animals.

Oh wait, it seems as though you think being pro-slaughter means they "slaughter" their horses like a slaughterhouse. Oh dear, you have been misinformed and perhaps uneducated. Pro-slaughter means that an organization agrees entirely with the slaughter industry. They feel that slaughter is necessary for population control, honey. They also did not use euthanasia as a last resort. Have you even heard the entire story?
