This is a real example of what patience and persistence can do! I've seen these dogs and they have come from not moving at all to as you can view in the video actually running! It's rewarding for us, but I'm sure also rewarding for these two dogs who are now making steps toward adoptable behaviors. Wonderful to see!
These two pups, Deedee and Chi Chi, were surrended to our shelter a few weeks ago. They are 4 years old and their mistress had to go into a nursing home. We believe these pups were held constantly and not taught any behaviors. When they first came in, they were trying to be as invisible as possible, melting into the walls and floor. When anyone would approach, they would communicate through raised lips and growling. Mike has worked with these pups and as you can see, they have really come around. There still is a lot of work, but Mike has made an enormous difference to where these dogs are now adoptable.
