Things look sort of cramped at your Shelter, although I guess this video shows only the entrance. I think I saw another of your videos which showed several huts or cabins and a sizable lawn area. Do you use that for dogs to exercise?
We are lucky in that we have nearly four acres. We have put up two larger fenced runs about 30 yards by ten yards in which the dogs can romp. What we have learned is to be careful about who goes in with whom--pit mixes (and we have a good percentage of them) don't let go when they decide to clamp down on another dog. So we have learned how to break up dogfights, but more importanly, to PREVENT them. We have a field of two acres to walk the dogs in, where hopefully we'll be able to build a properly designed building for dogs and cats. Our dog population is about 75 now, with a good contingent of puppies. We are no-kill, so our only outlet is adoptions and intermittend trips to Dumb Friends League in Denver, where dog laws are strictly enforced and a high demand for dogs exist. Here in OK, we are overrun by strays and abandoned dogs. We have had plumbing problems, too, connected to septic system. Nice to know we aren't the only ones. Hey, how the heck have managed to get over 200,000 points in the contest? You must have the whole state of NJ uploading!
