Kittles doesn't lick while we are petting him. However, the minute we are done, he's licking himself where we pet him. I guess he thinks we messed up his hair! lol

You are such a butt patter! I'm thinking about my neighbor's dogs. Scratch right behind the tail or on the tummy and they have a reflex action, like lip licking or leg twitching. You are not actually "petting" OC, you're just scratching his rear end and butt patting. Maybe, like a dog, those sensations trigger the lick reflex in him! Maybe he thinks he's got fleas! (NOT in your house!) Just tried the actions with both of mine and get no licking response; one did turn and bite gently, though. Just another quirk attached to the boy, and that's why he's special!
