The Columbus Zoo is home of Jack Hanna. He took a run down Zoo and make is amazing. Jack along with the zoo have helped increase awareness of animals. They always try and help other organizations.
The Animal exhibits are very natural and are more for the animal than the person view. They have wonderful staff whose job is to take care of the animals, yet help educate the public.
I also love the Columbus Zoo because they host "Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo." They invite area shelters and rescues to bring some of their adoptable animals to the event. It is completely free to the shelters/rescues and also to the folks looking for their new best friend.
The event this year is June 14th, 2008.
