My local wildlife rescue

posted 7 years ago

I've taken a couple of animals here. I felt the communication on the first animal, a crow, was pretty bad. They said I would be notified when she was released but then I wasn't, which was disappointing because my hubby and I had planned to open a special bottle of wine on her behalf when she got to be free. The reception person was also pretty insensitive, laughing and smiling when she said the animal might not survive. Not sure what that is about, but she could use more training. I would really just like to see this place get more funding so they can improve the people-side of their practice to match their animal-side. Although they are there to help animals, the people are the ones who bring those critters in and donate time and money, and it can be very traumatic to the rescuer to deal with an injured animal, so customer service is essential.

This place could be so great, they just need some help!

Pros: vets are very thorough, nice location geographically

Cons: support staff is a little rough, facility is run down
