Review Details

Dr. Denton had been my cat, Ozzie's, vet for most of his life. Ozzie had always been healthy. When he was 10 years old, he started losing weight and not acting his usual self. He would sometimes have difficulty breathing. I took him in to Dr. Denton. Dr Denton did a physical check of Ozzie and bloodwork. Based on the results of the bloodwork, he decided Ozzie had thyroid issues and put him on medication. Ozzie only got worse. Dr Denton tried adjusting the level of his medicine but to no avail. I finally took Ozzie to Dr Snodgrass. He did took an xray and showed me where Ozzie had a tumor. Dr Snodgrass also could not understand what had led Dr Denton to diagnosis overactive thyroid as the bloodwork actually pointed to the opposite condition. Ozzie's tumor by this time was not treatable and he passed away a few months later. I will never forgive Dr Denton for making the wrong, unsupported diagnosis and for not taking any xrays. He jumped to a diagnosis based on misreading the bloodwork alone. Ozzie's failure to respond to the treatments did not even lead Dr Denton to question his diagnosis. At least I found Dr Snodgrass and know now to take all my animals to him. He is awesome, thorough and up to date on current treatments.
