I used this vet on the recommendation of a friend. There were not a lot of options for people with "small" animals like ferrets at the time and my friend has seen her and really liked the treatment and care. (There is only one other vet in town that I know of now.) Dr. Cochran was really wonderful and she took great care of my pets. She diagnosed my toy pom with "luxating patellas" which is basically where the knee caps do not stay in place properly. This causes severe pain and arthritis in later life for dogs who have this. The surgery was not inexpensive, but the timing was perfect because she was still young. I have since seen other Poms who were not lucky enough to have this surgery early, and they basically limp and hold their legs oddly because it is so painful to walk or run on them. She moved to Leavenworth and may be practicing there or in Wenatchee.

Pros: I loved the care provided by Dr. Cochran

Cons: no longer in Ellensburg, moved to Wenatchee or Leavenworth

I took my cat to this vet when it was in Ellensburg because he hated to travel and this was the closest vet to me. It was SO expensive it made me wish that I had gone that extra mile to get service that was just as good for half the cost. From what I can remember all I went in there to get was a rabbies shot for my cat and it ended up costing me over $60 and that was after I had to tell the vet over and over that I didn't need anything else (just the shot so I could go get my cats current license!).

Pros: It was close to home
