Years ago I had a little stray dog...loved her dearly.
She was injured by a cow kicking her. The vet did an awesome job of healing her. However, when she was at end of life due to cancer..the vet wanted to do surgery.
I never argued with a vet until I did with him. Why do surgery...the quality of her life was more important to me that putting her through surgery...that wouldn't save her life. He couldn't assure me that her quality of life would be any better.
Cons: Bottom line too important

I had a kitten we adopted, Zipper. She was the coolest tuxedo kitty ever. We went away on vacation and had a pet sitter to watch over her and Latte, our siamese boy. Whenw e came home I noticed Zipper was moving slower than usual so I took her in to see Dr Hardinge. She took Zipper in for some blood work and it was obvious something was wrong, just by the way her blood looked. She had FIP and Dr Hardinge was so helpful in understanding the disease and what to expect. Obvisouly we could not save her, but she had a decent few weeks. Dr Hardinge made it a point to test Latte too. There is no real test for FIP, just rankings. 3 months later we rant he same tests, his score dropped dramatically which meant we could adopt a new playmate. Nahla. The clinic has always been helpful and has taken the time to ensure I understood all the issues.
Pros: Supportive and knowlegeable
