Southern Kern Veterinary

I have been to this office for 20 years. I have seen several different vets in the past 5 years, they were all good. I always liked Dr Chris he is in Quartz Hill now, i have seen him there but don't like the drive. There was one doctor at Southern kern I didn't much..he didn't listen to me and just wanted to do things only his way.
I like the Dr now, Dr McNiel. Yeah, it costs but I have found it is no different than any other vet office in the Antelope Valley. Dr McNiel is pretty sharp, she found my dog has Cushings disease, I never heard of such a thing but Baxter is doing much better now.
I have read some of these reviews and it seems folks only bitch about how much stuff costs. Well if they got good vet care and the pets are taken care of how much is that really worth....probably a lot I think.
The vets at South Kern have always done good by me.

This place is definitely the only game in town. It's owned by a veterinarian who runs Quartz Hill Veterinary. He's never here in Kern. This office is staffed by "employee" doctors. Currently Dr. Aidan McNiel is on staff in Kern. She's great ... competent and caring. However, the business is there to generate money for Dr. Biggerstaff and they will charge you for every little thing, and I do mean EVERY LITTLE THING!! If you are even a few minutes late to pick up your animal they will charge you 20 bucks and you won't know it until after you have paid and then you see the receipt. This is only one of my several experiences of being charged for something without them telling me ahead of time.
