I took one of my dogs to Dr. Hunthausen because she had a biting problem. This was 16 years ago and he taught me how to handle the situation which worked. He also gave me advise on my cat. Most recently I took a foster dog of mine to him because she was very scared of men and I didn't want that fear to become aggression. Wow...found out I was doing everything wrong. He had me video tape the dog before we met so he could see "Sugar" in action with & without men. I followed his advice and it was working very slowly. I was lucky sugar got adopted by a female only home and the new owner knew about Sugar's "male" problem and I gave her Dr. hunthausen's instructions. I keep in contact with Sugar's new owner & even though Sugar still doesn't want to be with men; the owner is following the doctors advice and Sugar is doing well...at least no aggression towards men!

The doctor is expensive but he is very knowledgable and I could tell a huge difference in sugar when I followed his advice.....and learned to take things very slowly. He may be an animal behavior consultant but really he is a human behavior consultant 'cuz it is the 2 legged animals that need the help!
