Dr.McIntyre
posted 4 years ago
About three weeks ago me and my husband had to rush our toy poodle into the Emergency Vet Clinic. She had been acting a little tired the night before but we didn't really think anything of it until the morning when she wasn't walking quite right as she went outside. As she came in she just wasn't her normal self. She proceeded to end up laying on our bed almost unresponsive, shaking, and then she lost control of her bowls. As soon as we got to the clinic they immediately took her to their treatment area and started to try and get her stable. During all of this me and my husband waited in one of the exam rooms praying that she would be alright. She's my baby. Dr.McIntyre had one of his assistants come in off and on asking us questions whether she could have gotten in to something, as well as to just update us on how she was doing.
When Dr.McIntyre finally was able to come speak with us he was very straight forward with us about his opinion on what was wrong with my baby. With my baby being so sick I was glad he was straight to the point and didn't beat around the bush. He told us that after he got the blood work back that he strongly felt like she had Addison's Disease. Which after we got the test done at our reg. vet it concluded that Dr.McIntyre was right.
Dr.McIntyre and the staff at the Emergency Vet Clinic took very good care of my baby and I appreciate them so much. I would trust Dr.McIntyre with any of my dogs as well as the other staff their.
Pros: Wonderful Staff
Cons: nothing

Depends on the vet
posted 5 years ago
I believe that the experience you have with this clinic depends on the doctor. I took my dog here when he had pneumonia (and when vets were still figuring out what was wrong with him), and I had Dr. Firl. I absolutely loved her, and I believe that she saved Elvis' life. She was very concerned and caring. On the other hand, I had a guinea pig that had pneumonia and got Dr. McIntyre. He was a jerk and said "It's a guinea pig, what do you expect me to do? They aren't meant to live very long anyway; they are prey in the wild you know." Needless to say, it cost me more to keep my guinea pig there overnight than it cost for me to keep my dog there for 2 days, and they did half the stuff with my guinea pig, and he ended up dying on my ride home from there. I was devastated with my guinea pigs death and also with the behavior of the doctor who "took care" of him. I would definitely go to another emergency clinic, if there were one, just because of Dr. McIntyre. Overall, the rest of the staff was very nice.
Pros: open when other vets aren't, good with dogs, very "update" with technology
Cons: expensive, not good with little furry friends
