Fed up with Noah's Ark

posted 5 years ago

I finally got fed up with Noah's Ark and switched to another vet.

Before switching, I had a lot of problems with them.

1.) I once made an appointment and got there about 10 or 15 minutes early. I ended up waiting more than an hour before I even got in. What's the point of making an appointment if you're not going to hold it? I realize there can be emergencies, but there were other people coming in after me that got into their appointments...I didn't request any vet in particular...they should have bumped someone else to make them wait 10 minutes instead of making me wait an hour and a half for a vet that happened to be assigned to me that day. By the way, they never told me they were running behind and never updated me...I got the feeling I was just forgotten. I had to go bug the lady after I had been sitting around 45 minutes...she didn't really say anything...kind of ignored me.

2.) Jasmine started licking and biting at her paws...so bad so that she was starting to loose hair on her paws. I took her in to be looked at and they said "Oh well they don't have much hair on their paws anyway." Well, I'm sorry, I know there's a little thinner hair on a dog's paws, but I know when my dog is losing hair there...I'm trying to catch this early on, whatever it is. She said the scratching was probably just seasonal allergies and told me to give her Benedryl. That had no effect whatsoever. I took her back a month later when her paws were almost COMPLETELY bald, and the vet finally decided to do tests. Said she was negative for mites, had to wait a week for ringworm test, and gave me a prescription in case there was infection (didn't bother testing for infection...just gave me something generic). I later ended up getting a second opinion at a different office and he immediately was able to diagnose it as yeast and get her on medicine that cleared it up

3.) Well, at the end of the week when I called about the results of the ringworm test, they said they wanted to wait another week for the test just to make sure there isn't any growth. I was planning to go out of town and board her there anyway so I took her in. When I got there I had noticed some kind of bump on her throat...just a scab I suppose. I asked a vet about it while I was waiting in the lobby. He glanced at it and said it was nothing. I got charged $28 for that! He didn't do an exam or anything...just glanced at something I happened to see. I wasn't told that I would be charged for a glance either, or I would have waited until the next vet visit.

4.) When I picked Jasmine up from boarding I saw a charge on the bill for the ringworm test. I had already paid that when I took her in the last time and they took the hair samples for the test. I didn't have the receipt with me so I couldn't prove it (I don't carry those things around...and I may have even thrown it away...haven't been able to find it). I figured I wouldn't get my dog back if I didn't pay it so I paid, but I was pissed. Just because they wanted to watch it for an extra week was NO REASON to charge me for an extra test...they were watching the same sample in the same goo that I already paid for.

5.) The place was always kind of dirty. After going to the new vet I realized just how messy the Noah's Ark office really was.

6.) You usually have to make appointments 2 weeks in advance...which is funny considering they don't necessarily stick to them (see above). I just took this to be a fact of life. The vet I go to now can often get you in on the same day or next day.

Well, that's all I can think of right now...I'm sure I could come up with other problems if I sat and thought about my entire experience with them instead of just the last couple of months before I switched to a new vet.

Pros: ok price

Cons: double billed

Love Noah's Ark

posted 5 years ago

I have taken my dogs, cats & birds to Noah's Ark for years and it is the only place I will take them. Everyone there truly cares about animals and are compassionate to not only them, but their families as well. In my opinion they offer higher quality health care for pets at a much more affordable price. When we leave I always feel like my babies have gotten the best possible care and didn't have to pay a fortune for it. I highly recommend Noah's Ark!

The Best

posted 5 years ago

We have been going to Noah's Ark for over 10 years. We have brought cats, birds, frogs, toads, geckos, dogs, chickens and many other animals to them. Once, we found a toad with a injured leg. We took the toad to Noah's Ark and they were able to amputate the leg and the toad survived. That has happened to other turtles and frogs also. When one of my chicks started to act funny and had seizures we called them and they told us what to do. The chick survived and lives happily with the rest of the flock. When my gecko had part of her shedded skin in her eye, they gave us eye drops and food to feed her. She could have easily lost the sight in her eye but she didn't because of them. Noah's Ark has cared for our dogs and cats when ever they are hurt. We have called them in the middle of the night with a question about an opossum that our dogs had found and they responded. The reason they are busy is because they are great with people and pets.

Pros: The staff takes care of your pets and never gives up on them

Cons: They are busy

Noah's Ark is one of the best Vet Office I have ever been to.

posted 5 years ago

I have been to several vets and this vets office has exceeded all others. The staff really care about the animals the animals are relaxed not stressed like animals I have seen at other vet offices. I now use this vet only and I constantly refer others to this vet office. Not only do they care but they don't inflate their prices like others do. I took one of my dogs to get her anal sacs released at another vet before I found this clinic and not only was I in there only 5 minutes but the vet didn't seem to care about my dog at all my dog couldn't wait to get out of there. Well I take my dog to Noah's Ark now and pay half the cost and my dog isn't stressed about going like she was at the other place. GO Noah's Ark.

Pros: Seem to really care about pets its not about the profit margin

Cons: Office has a real small waiting room

Awful customer service!!

posted 2 years ago

Awful customer service!! I initially brought my dog here after adopting from CMHS. Their fees were reasonable so we came back to them after adopting a kitten and I've had nothing but frustration with them. I couldn't really speak much for their animal care because their people skills are really terrible. Thanks to Noah's Ark front desk, I found another, BETTER, vet clinic.

Pros: reasonable fees

Cons: terrible front desk

Award Pet Supply

We buy our dog food here and toys for all three. Sami and Kalleigh like to visit, although they go a little nuts. We really like to say hello to Coral and the other animals that are there.
