Abbeywood Cat Clinic

We have been taking our two cats here for 10 years. I love it! Because they only take cats, it's quieter and less hectic. The vets are great - calm and composed. One of my cats is very difficult and they manage him well. We have had various issues throughout the years - asthma, hyperthyroidism, teeth issues. They have done surgery on one of my cats, cleaned teeth for both and I have always been pleased with the follow up. I would recommend this vet for anyone with cats. The only negative is that I think they are somewhat expensive. But it's worth it. For any prescriptions, have them called into your pharmacy rather then buy them there - you'll save money.

Where can I begin? I absolutely love everything about this place! It's completely adorable and tranquil from the outside in. The prompt and friendly attention puts even the most skittish at ease. You are shown to a private room (ours always has perchable windows) immediately, so the cats relax.

The wonderful staff are thorough, gentle and obviously love what they do. Dr. Carol Fuhrman sort of specializes in kittens and coos over the new baby right along with you.

Perhaps our favorite is Dr. Jeanmarie McInerney. She even managed to get my aloof cat to purr during her examination! She is extremely helpful and patient.

Some might say that needing two separate vets (they ONLY treat felines here) is a "con". I don't find taking my dog and guinea pigs to different vets troublesome at all. It's not like you'd be bringing them all at once anyway! I WISH I could find a place half as nice and caring for my other pets.

Abbeywood has two locations, though we've only use the Naperville one. They have convenient hours, including Saturdays.

We will always use Abbeywood. I actually look forward to visits. The cats don't seem to mind at all either and they have never come home traumatized. We love Abbeywood!
