St. Johns Animal Clinic

My husband took our dog in to the vet because he had a ear infection. They shaved around his inner ear, flushed it, & gave us a antibiotic to give him. We picked him up in a couple of hours & the charge was $350.00. Well my husband wanted to make a payment plan & they said no, they don't do that. They said he would have to pay now or he wouldn't get his dog. They should of told him beforehand what the cost was. They said they had a hard time shaving & flushing his ears. It's not easy to whip out $350.00. Not to mention the cost for what was done is ridiculous. You can have surgery cheaper than that. We could of shaved his ear & flushed it ourselves. Needless to say he didn't heal & we couldn't afford to take him back so we bought some normal saline & flushed his ear everyday. One ear is healed but were still battling the other & this has been months. I thought the vets cared about the animals, but it's like everything else, it's all about the money. Very sad. At least Ovid Elsie Animal Clinic allows 30 day payment plans. That's where we went before we moved out here.

My Mom & Dad take their dog here. They switched from another vets office. They are very happy w/ the vets in this office. Brandy is healthier than she has ever been. They diagnosed her & started her on correct medicine & food. Brandy is like a new dog now! It all comes down to if you have a good vet. My folks like this vet office & will continue going there. It's local & close by. That's reasurring to know if something was to happen & you needed your vet quickly!

Pros: Close, local & knowledgable

Cons: Pricey like any other vet office
