FoxNest is my vet clinic of choice
posted 5 years ago
After some issues with our previous vet we decided to search for a new vet when our Olde English Bulldogge, Bubba, came into our family. We had been using a local vet who treated my family's pets for years, and I just wasn't satisfied with his services or his diagnosis of the bald spots appearing on Bubba.
A friend recommended Foxnest, so we made an appointment to meet the vets. After meeting both vets, Dr. Ross and Dr. Dunagin, we were very pleased. We've spent a lot of time in the vet's office with our dear Bubba and his many health problems, and every single time both vets have gone out of their way to make sure he was treated thoroughly. Dr. Ross is known throughout the state as a great vet who works extra hard to care for his patients no matter how big or how small the issue is, and he's been practicing for 25+ years. Dr. Dunagin is a fairly young vet with only a couple years experience fresh out of the University of Georgia, but he is just as thorough and caring as Dr. Ross. If he doesn't know the answer, he goes directly to Dr. Ross before attempting to treat.
There have been many times I've panicked and called during the busiest hours of the day to ask a question. Both vet's go out of their way to make sure if they can't come to the phone the calls are returned the second they get a chance. Both vets are also extremely thorough with checkups and answering any questions pet owners may have. There have also been many occasions when Dr. Ross
has stayed well past normal hours to accommodate my husband's work schedule and commute home from another state.
The clinic's staff is very friendly, and they all go out of their way to make sure everyone feels right at home. Anytime your pet visits the clinic for any reason, one of the staff calls you the next day to see how your pet is doing and answer any questions you may have.
Bubba is well known around the clinic considering for the first year and 1/2 of his life he was in and out of the office at least once every couple weeks. I've never seen a dog so happy to go to the vet, and it's all because the entire staff goes out of their way to make sure he enjoys the visits instead of tucking tail and running scared.
On top of all the wonderful service and caring vets, Foxnest also is one of the cheapest vets in our area. Dr. Ross is also wonderful about working with owners who can't afford to pay for more expensive procedures up front. We've never had to do this, but there have been many times we've been offered financing if we needed it.
I also love the fact that Foxnest also runs The Animal Rescue Fund of South Carolina, a non profit no kill shelter for dogs and cats.
Pros: Such a wonderful animal hospital/vet clinic!
