Care at companion care
posted 1 year ago
I have taken a few of my cats to Companion Care and have found the staff( I have dealt with many of them now) to be highly professional and especially courteous. I had to have a pet put down there about a year ago and I was treated with such sensitivity and empathy that I can only applaud them. I especially have high regards for Dr. Teresa Janda, she is great with our companions but she is also great with people. I feel secure in trusting care this staff.

I have reviewed Companion Care here once before but I recently had reason to visit them again. Our 12 year old cat Lucy, was suddenly ill. Not appetite, very lethargic, unsteady on her feet. I took her in to CC and met Dr. Spence who is filling in for Dr Janda I believe. He did a blood test and gave Lucy a couple of injections to help with nausea hoping that she might eat a little while we waited for the test results. Later that day Dr. Spence called with the results, which were bad, and I rushed her in to be euthanized to end her suffering. She passed before we could accomplish that.
Everyone at CC seems genuinely compassionate. Especially Dr. Spence who offered his sincerest condolences and seemed to empathize with my sadness and grief. I also received a sympathy card with a hand written message from Dr. Spence.
One week later I had take another of our cats, this time Jake, who was walking very slow and deliberately, and seemed to be in pain. Dr Spence did a urinalysis to check for diabetes, which was fine. After checking Jake's rear leg movements he seemed to feel the problem was arthritis and gave him an injection and prescribed some pain medication. This was the day before yesterday. Today Jake is much better. He is eating fine, walking much better, and generally seems to be back to his old self. I spoke with Dr. Spence this morning, he was very concerned about how Jake was doing, and followed up.
I love all the staff at Companion Care from phone conversations to having to euthanize, these people understand your concern...and your grief. That matters a great deal when we care so much for a companion who cannot let you know what is wrong, why they are hurting. Compassionate understanding means so much to us at these times and these people seem to know that very well.
Pros: excellent service
Cons: I have no cons

I was treated very rudely by this vet. Keep in mind this is an animal doctor and his priority should be the treatment and care of our pets. His priority was not to maintain my pets good health but rather to be rude to me .
I would not recommend this clinic, the staff does not portray as being happy. I thought maybe that was due to having a long day. I suspect it is just not a nice place to be. The vet was rude, and not interested in my pets welfare.

We went there for the first time about 6 years ago, looking to adopt a cat. The employees there were just downright rude, not what you would expect. They gave me such an attitude when I even asked if … more ›
