Jefferson Animal Hospital

I had just gotten my rabbit from the pet store the day before. He started sneezing the next day. I was worried and called around for an animal hospital that takes rabbits. I found them and they set up an appointment for me.

When I got there, the parking lot was insane and they had people waiting outside. This was most busy day. I got there about 15 minutes before my appointment so that I could fill out any information that needed to be filled out. My appointment was at 1:30pm and we were not seen until about 3:00 or later, BUT once I was in the room the doctor did take his time with me and answered all the questions that I had. Which if you think about it is probably how they got so backed up in the first place. Also, I do know that this was the day before the 4th of July and they were trying to get all clients in because they were going to be closed the next day.

All in all, it was good experience. It was not too expensive. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and very kind. And if the hospital was not on a strict "no one gets turned away" policy that day it may not have been such a long wait.

Cons: Small busy parking lot.

I have taken several cats to this vet for a variety of issues. Two had serious illnesses and were eventually put down -- the staff and doctors handled it all as good as could be. One cat had an unusual illness. One doc took the time to research it, call me and talk about it, and was honest and upfront about costs, risks, etc. These folks really care from top to bottom. Blood analysis, x-rays, etc., can all be done right on-site.

Pros: wide range of services on-site, super caring staff

Cons: being good makes them busy
