Got2Get Mad4MyDog!

posted 6 years ago

Mad4My Dog is by far the best pet dog obedience training option in South Central Indiana and beyond. Owner/trainer Madalyn Moorman uses positive reinforcement training to help people truly communicate with their dogs. The result is a deeper bond between human and dog, and a well-mannered dog who feels loved and has structure in his or her life. Madalyn has a degree in animal behavior from Indiana University and is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer. She is passionate about her positive techniques. Unlike trainers who jerk dogs around and shame them into submission, Madalyn does not believe in using fear, adversive techniques or coercion to get dogs to behave. Rather, she is all about communicating with animals, respecting their differences and their dogness, and rewarding them for good behavior. She has trained all three of my dogs and has worked wonders with all of them... and with me! In fact, one of the most important components of her method is getting the humans to come around and understand that they have to work at obedience, it doesn't just happen. Mad4MyDog is located just outside of Ellettsville, and also has a self-service dog bathing area and a shop full of awesome, hard-to-find anywhere else toys, leashes, collars, harnesses, treats, and food. I've found amazing pit-bull tough toys there as well as a cute hand-knit sweater for my former foster dog...great stuff at incredibly reasonable prices. I tell everyone I know that Madalyn is the best thing that ever happened to dog companions in this area. She also helps out at the Bloomington Animal Shelter, providing training to adoption counselors and staff there. She supports our community and the animals in it, and we should support her.

Pros: Positive reinforcement obedience training from a true expert!

Cons: None!
