Picture Perfect Pets

Bette Yip has been a great obedience instructor. My dog Huxley is always so excited to go to the Doggy Do-Right class and to see Bette. Hux is learning quickly - the clicker training is quite effective. Bette explains the procedures for training, and the rationales behind them. She trains owners as well as pets, and adjusts quickly to different dog and owner personalities. Bette uses different dogs for demonstrations throughout class, showing how to work with dogs of different personalities. She assigns reading for owners elaborating on techniques and ideas, and also homework for specific training sessions. Bette works very hard - the other night we were the only members of our 5-dog class present, and she gave us a personal lesson - plus she is holding an extra lesson for everyone in our class. Although the price is a bit more than other schools in the area - $200 for 6 sessions (for us, one private, and one extra session!) - it is well worth it.
