This cat scratcher saves my furniture, and Kujo loves it, though we need to replace some of the sisal rope now.

You could try a scat mat but I prefer bitter apple spray for cats. Spray 1 shot only in their mouth, then near the areas you'd like them to stay away from. Give them a scratch post and spray it with… read more

I'm looking to buy a piece of cat furniture for two large (not fat) cats. Furniture I saw at local pet stores seemed too small. I'm currently considering Drs Foster & Smith Amusement Park or Mega Spiral Penthouse. Our home is small with not much space than can be dedicated as cat-on… Read more

When I moved into this house several years ago, I noticed the back windows in my bedroom faced east and got a lot of sun in the morning. However, the windowsills were rather narrow. How could my kitties get a nap in the sun? Well, maybe if I got a cabinet that went up to, but not above, the windowsill. I went on safari for furniture armed with the measurement from floor to windowsill, 24 inche… read more

I was reading through some reviews yesterday and saw one for "Catmopolitan". It sounded like it would be a funny read and, as a bonus, one of the reviewers said they had ideas for cat furniture and perches. When I first decided I wanted to build a cat tree, I struggled to find any plans that looked like they would be interesting for cats. I do like the ones I built, but the plans call for a con… read more

This was a new company I saw recommended online, so ordered from them to compare to Amarkat. This product is 6 feet tall, but it's also 3 feet wide, so it is well able to handle feline jumping without being tippy. It does take up a lot of space, but what's the point of ordering a tall tree if it's just going to tip over? My first thought was to order more from them. The second thought was that… read more

We went to Costco today to check out their cat furniture. They don't have the cat tree that is featured online--I really wanted to see it. They did have some smaller trees/climbers that are pretty nice and much more reasonably priced than the pet stores. But, they aren't as big and didn't seem as sturdy as the stuff I have been building. I still have to finish up a freestanding perch I am maki… read more
