Ellensburg Pet Center

Most of my experience with Ellensburg Pet Center has been positive. My negative experience was over some betta fish. Despite following all the advice I was given, I had four fish die within a two week period. I was given only one of them free after the first died after only two days. I used the water conditioner they recommended, the fungicide they recommended and the food they recommended. SO after buying all they recommended and the fish, it was quite a costly effort. I wanted a fish for my classroom. Imagine my horror when my three year old students pointed out that our fish had died, again! A discussion I was hoping to leave to the parents. Anyway... I ended up buying feeder goldfish (6 for $1) and a year later they are still living.

Pros: Convenient, wide variety.

Cons: Customer service.

I took my son into the Ellensburg Pet Store to buy a fish and it took over 1/2 hours to even get someone to look at us or say hello. The gal we got handled the fish very roughly and I assumed they would not make it. One is doing ok and the other passed away within two days. My son said where is the other fishy.
This is not the first time I have been there and it is not the first time for bad service. I have went in there and had nice friendly service as well, but they need to be more consistant, especially when they are not busy and just chatting with a friend.
I prefer to drive to Yakima and that is sad to say. I like the HOmetown shopping, but I also like friendly service.
