Online Pet Site Donates 100% Profits to Feline Health Research
posted 5 years ago
The Green Feline is the first cats-only website to donate 100% of its profits to feline health research. One of the primary beneficiaries will be The Winn Feline Foundation which is the largest nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for feline diseases like FIP and HCM (cardiomyopathy.) Other beneficiaries will be universities like Cornell who have done research on the causes of many cat illnesses.
This site has been started by a cat lover who lost a kitten to FIP when he was only 7 months old and a mature cat to diabetes. With enough research, major cat killing health problems could become non-fatal conditions.
Very little money is being spent on feline health research and nearly all drugs being used on cats were developed for humans so they are not as effective as they could be and can have serious side effects. We think it's time we helped our feline friends and, selfishly, one of the side benefits of this type of research is that it is often very applicable to human illnesses!
Pros: The Green Feline offers a wide range of excellent products reasonably priced and all profits go to feline health research
Cons: It's a brand new website store
