I love that Petco is very good about supporting rescue and adoption.
The story is friendly, well lighted, clean. Prices are pretty 'medium'. Employees there are helpful and love seeing your pets. Pets must be contained when they go...so make sure you bring your leash. They also very often have leashes there you can 'borrow' if you forgot yours.

Treats are often given at the registers. You can also use your 'Petco' card, which you can get for free, to get special discounts and offers.

I think it is a fine large scale pet store, they have also offered other services such as grooming and training classes.

Pros: Supports rescue and adoption. Large selection of mainstream foods.

Cons: could use more of the 'not so' mainstream foods..organics and so on.
