Here is the letter I wrote to the corprate office, & still no response:
To whom this may concern,
On Saturday July 12th I left Pet Smart in Dearborn Michigan store # 0691 very shook en up. I had a 3:00 appointment get get my dog Buddy groomed. When I first arrived I noticed a girl by the name of Shannon grooming a German Sheppard. She was telling him in an extremely harsh voice to stop whining. The dog was staying perfectly still the only thing it was doing was whining. I don't see anything wrong with what that dog was doing especially since going to the groomer can be very stressful & scary for a dog & in my eyes that young lady was making it worse for the dog. For some reason I decided to stay, I kept telling myself at least Buddy is just getting a bath & since he has short hair he wont be in that environment for long. While I signed the contract I could here & see one of the girls(I believe her name tag said Bobi) making fun of another customer after hanging up the phone with tha t person not having a care in the world that I ( a costumer) was still there. After witnessing this poor costumer service & the mean way that most of these girls spoke to the dogs I decided to stay in the store & wait for Buddy instead of leaving & getting some grocery shopping done which was my original plan. I was in the store for an hour & a half wondering why Buddy still wasn't ready & why these girls took care of 2 dogs that arrived after Buddy & I. So I then went in @ 4:45 & asked "is Buddy ready yet?" Shannon told me "oh we haven't started on him yet come in at 6:15". I then decided to talk to the manager & just ask for my dog back because I thought this whole thing was ridiculous. I have taken Buddy to other places to get groomed & it only takes 20 minutes. The manager "Dave" had pointed out that in my contract it did in fact say that Buddy won't be ready until 6:00. I told him that it might be a good idea to have the girls point th at out to the costumer before they leave.While I was talking to the store manager the girls hurried up & gave Buddy a bath, cleaned his ears & clipped his nails in a matter of 10 minutes. Now I ask myself why wasn't it done like that in the first place??? It's a shame that all of this took place because Buddy did leave the store looking & smelling great. Still I have to admit had I had known a bath would have been a 3 hour event I would have not taken him to Pet Smart, from now on I will take the longer drive to Canine to Five where Buddy has been in the past. It may be more expensive there but at least when I leave him there I have no doubt that he will be treated with nothing but love & be ready to go home in a timely manner. I do not like the fact that Buddy was in a kennel (a place that he is not used to) for 2 hours for no reason at all. If the appointment is at 3 he should be worked on at 3 just like anywhere else.
It saddens me that this took place, my mom & I were planning on taking our dogs to the intermediate couse next because in the past we had enjoyed our experiences/puppy classes at this store. I would never want anyone to have to go through what my dog & I went through on that day. I'm sure if these owners could see how there dogs were being spoken to they would be very upset as well.I hope that after reading this letter someone will take notice & do something to make some changes about how things are run in the salon.
Pros: The puppy classes were great
Cons: the grooming salon on the other hand needs new management
