Bark Harbor

Its half touristy, half petsy.

While you can buy anything "new england" for a dog here - you can also get.. well.. anything else for a dog as well. From great locally crafted goods such as collars and leashes, to hand made treats, art, and regular pet accessories.

The staff is GREAT - very helpful and super friendly. They have a fantastic guide to getting around all the pet friendly places in Bar(k) Harbor.

Pros: friendly, smart, local, clean

Cons: pricey

We discovered Bark Harbor while vacationing in Bar Harbor, Maine with our dog, Charlie. What a cute little store! Catered mostly to dogs, this shop had tons of fancy leashes/collars, delectable-looking treats (in the form of cookies, pretzels, etc.) and toys. Charlie was in absolute heaven! We left with a new leash, some peanut butter treats and a list of all of the dog-friendly restaurants in town courtesy of the very friendly shop owner. We can't wait to go back!

Pros: lots of apparel & treats, nice staff

Cons: a tad expensive
