Review Details

This is a cute cage with a Princess theme, and there are several other styles of this particular model that come in different colors.

The good side of the cage is that it is virtually escape proof (unless chewed on) for the very small rodents like dwarf hamsters and mice. It is connectable with other Habitrail models and can be expanded with a variety of tubes and connected to other habitats.

The bad side of this cage unfortunately dominates: Ventilation is poor, making this dangerous in a warm house. With the poor ventilation, I would not recommend keeping social groups of mice or dwarf hamsters in these habitats unless you expand them to allow better ventilated areas, as it will require much more frequent cleaning to prevent ammonia build up. Cleaning is difficult, the entire cage needs to be disassembled during cleaning. Access to your pet is poor and almost completely prevented with a shy animal if they go beneath the plastic level.

Overall, this can be a great choice if you are looking to expand on a multiple-habitrail set up, but I would look elsewhere if you are looking for a single cage.
