Supporting Shelter: Humane Society Of Southern Arizona

Pros: if you want a friendly pet this could be the place

Cons: a clinic it is not, best find some where else to go.

I went to get my 2yr cane corso micro chip to my surprise they refused to service me because the dog growled, didn't show her teeth just growled more in fear than any thing else, i have been to many a vet/clinic in 40 yrs, this is the 1st one that i found that will not muzzle an animal how odd. if they only deal with the most gentless of pets may be they should not deal with dogs but only puppies.
it was bad enough to refuse but the lady i believe she said her name was cathy was smiling from ear to ear as if it was funny, the asst mngr, about 6'2" 300lbs came to see if the dog was afraid of him well what do you think happened ! it is some 20 miles from my house I well not take that trip ever again!
it is too bad that i voted for them BEFORE i went there!! if I could I would take it back i know of much better clinics than this, an adoption center yes a clinic maybe not.

Please remember that a lot of the services at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona are ran by volunteers. Volunteers do receive training on how to work with dogs and cats and how to assist with staff who do spay/neuter and microchipping. The HSSAZ offers a great community service. You are right when you say that it is not a clinic. You should definitely seek out and establish a relationship with a veterinarian in town.
