Pros: nice building, great staff
Cons: kennels not optimal
I worked at this shelter for 1 year. They have a relatively new building designed with the safety of the visitor in mind. As the only animal shelter in the entire Colorado Springs area, they take in a huge number of animals yearly and they are well cared for. However, an ideal shelter would include indoor-outdoor kennels and a lot of space for walking the dogs and playing. This shelter was designed with disease transmission and safety in mind, not the mental welfare of the animals.
