Supporting Shelter: Animal House Pets & Grooming Inc

Supporting Rescue: Flat-Faced Friends Rescue

Pros: Very clean, great web-site, dogs are treated very well

Cons: Overpriced pure breds, questionable business practices

I adopted both of my dogs from this shelter and the process was wonderful. I was able to look online and go in right when I saw one I wanted. One was incredibly healthy while one that they told me was simply chubby, actually had worms, not a big deal though. They are very clean and the dogs seem happier there than in any other shelter I visit. This shelter really looks out for these animals while at the shelter and for their future homes. My only concern with this shelter is that they have adoption fees of up to 400.00 for toy breeds. Also, they only seem to have dogs under 3 years old unless they are toy or rare breeds; it makes me wonder if they euthanize large dogs based on age too frequently. If you are looking for a family pet that you can trust to be a healthy, well-tempered dog, this is a great place to go. The dogs there go really fast and it seems there is more demand than supply at this shelter, which is rare in the world of humane societies. If you are looking to really rescue a dog in need though, check out the mile-hi humane society; be prepared to have your heart broken though.
