Review Details

Thanks to Maxfund, I adopted a WONDERFUL dog this summer. Tanuki is a 7 year old Akita who I started walking in December. With typical Akita independence, intelligence and initial aloofness - he didn't acknowledge me for the first two months that I walked him, which was at least once a week. At about the end of those two months though, I guess he decided I was okay. Well, more than okay! When I showed up, he would jump around in his cage, get his toy, 'talk' to me, and wag his tail. I had been thinking about buying a house but that sealed the deal and I started looking for a place with a big yard. It took longer than I thought, but Maxfund staff saw that I was dedicated to this dog, and more importantly - they knew enough about Akitas to know that if he felt so bonded to me, he would be happiest if he could home with me. Even if it meant that he had to stay at the shelter a little longer while I bought a house (my apartment didn't allow dogs). I really can't say enough about how amazing Maxfund was - for me and most importantly for Tanuki. They ALWAYS put the animals' interests first, and you can't ask for anything more in a shelter. Thank you Maxfund!

And thank you for adopting Tanuki!
This is a great story! I wondered where Tanuki went! Say hello! Jeanne
It was worth the wait. I remember how Tanuki looked forward to your walks at the shelter!
