Pros: Hsnt takes on so much with so little. They never turn an animal away, this does not always make for a happy ending . This shelter does think outside the box all the time. this is really the only way to make a difference.
Cons: HSNT is over 100 years old deals with over 20,000 pets a year. It is way to small for the amount of animals they prossess a year.
This shelter needs to be expanded to benifit the animals. They do so much with so little at this shelter. Recently they had 2 bears that they took care of until they could fine them a place. One of the bears got sick and had to be put down. There was so much effort to try and save these bears, and it took so long, that the money just added up for their care. I will say that no animal has been turned away. The staff at this shelter really care and want to help all animals. I wish we had the where withall to save all the animals that pass thru their doors. Helping is there greatest joy.
