Pros: Great staff, volunteers and critters, TRULY no-kill, convenient location

What a great shelter. I've been volunteering with DKC since 2004 and have nothing but great things to say about them. It should be mentioned that this is one of Dallas' oldest AND only TRULY No-Kill shelter. I'm not going to name names, but there are shelters out there who CLAIM to be no-kill, but instead just send their pets off to a kill shelter so that they don't have blood on their hands. :( DKC is NOT one of them. They respect each animal's life as if it were their own and they have done an amazing job at it!!!

Also worthy of mention is that it does NOT discriminate based on breed. Pitties are welcomed just as much as Labbies (as well they should be!) :) All in all, this is a great non-profit organization and, if you can please find it in your heart to donate to them, you won't be sorry!!!
