Supporting Shelter: Humane Society of Cherokee County

Pros: extremely dedicated group of supporters

Cons: more animals than they can possibly handle

This area has SO many dumped dogs, so many irresponsible people that should never be allowed to have an animal that they do not take care of. It is a rare morning that I drive to work and do not see another dead dog or cat along my 10 mile drive into town. It disturbs me that people can throw away the life of an animal with so little regard. I truly enjoy the people that I have met from HSCC and respect their dedication to a no kill shelter.

It is great to see the "play pens" out back. Norm was out playing with and working on manners with one a beautiful chocolate lab to see that he will be a good addition to someone's home. I can see these pens as being more and more helpful as we move into spring to allow more play and exercise time for all.

I couldn't agree more. I have cried for these poor animals on more than one occasion.

Have you seen the new set of about 8 puppies that are in the round pen area out back? They are precious! They all crowd into the big barrel to sleep in there and come out with hay all over them! It's so cute. I hope they do OK and we can find homes for them very soon! By the way, I saw Norm walking a dog yesterday teaching it how to walk beside him and the dog loved the attention!
