We are a small shelter with 4 officers and 1 volunteer. We service a 26 mi radius with roughly 55,000 people. We overcrowd quickly but work really well with local rescues and our adoptions have gone up thanks to the internet. Many times our officers spend money out of pocket to undertake the care of some injured or sick animals because our budget doesn't allow for excessive or extensive care. Our capacity is only large enough to handle 31 dogs and 9 cats comfortably. We are almost always at full capacity. We all love animals and want to find them good homes. Even at shift end it is not surprising to still find us here on the phone trying to ask people for one more favor or rescue.
