Pros: A place for animals
Cons: Not enough money and space for all the animals in need
I thought I would be sad walking into an animal shelter for the first time. Boy, was I surprised!
I left there with a huge smile on my face after I saw all of the volunteers working with the animals and the dedicated staff.
I invite you to visit to see for yourself firsthand that getting involved with the Humane Society of West Louisiana. It will make you feel that you can make a difference in your community.
Spread the word that they need money to continue to enhance on their programs and to continue to improve the facilities. The more money they have, the more they can do.
Fantastic organization and great staff !!

This makes me feel sooo good to hear! I work at the HSWL 6 days per week - and I love every second of it! We interact with each animal on a personal level as some need more attention than others. Our animals (babies) are very well taken care of.
Not only is the basic food, water and beds provided - but LOTS of TLC are always in motion. We love everyone that comes through the doors and they depend on us to treat them with respect and kindness. At the end of each day - I can honestly say - I gave love, respect and kindness to an animal in need. Please come visit anytime!
