Pet Service Review

Nice to be so magnanimous. I know these folks worked like mad and overcame so many obstacles. It is so sad they were disqualified at the last minute. But what some of this shelter's supporters do not understand is why you need the zootoo money, when you have a new donated building and the newspaper said local businesses will match the million of zootoo if you win. Can't they just donate to finish out the building you have had donated? why Do you need the zootoo money, when it could go to help others in remote areas, like west plains, that don't have the Cardinals manager and other big shots to support them like you do?

Well the obstacle for us is we can't do it without zootoo's help. Because we are in a big city donor dollars go to all the human charities first - from Lukemia to the Red Cross for they are all here. So getting the funding has been impossible. I is a 3-4 Million dollar project and Richard Thompson is the catalyst at bringing matching funds and help so we can finally have a real place to call home. The volume of animals we deal with is in the thousands. I wish it was as simple as local businesses matching and its done, but that isn't our reality here. Cardinals support us in words not donations. We need this help desperately from zootoo or we would have never worked so hard to make the top 20. I think people misunderstand just because we are in a big city that resources just fall into our lap- it is actually really hard to compete with the giants here, animals come last in their minds. Take care- best of luck...I was really trying to give West Plains my support with my note not upset anyone, for that I am sorry. Just know, if we do win, Richard said he hopes to have another million dollar make-over this year and Stray Rescue will make sure you guys make the top 20 with our votes.

Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. I actually jumped in with both feet kind of late in the game and am disappointed that after all the hard work we did that we didnt end up in the top 20 because of 1 little and I mean "little" man. It is nice to know that West Plains has your help next year. We will all definitely be back to get West Plains in the top 20 next year. Good luck to you this year on getting the makeover. Even without winning the makeover, hopefully the Zootoo contest will enlighten the residents of West Plains into the work this shelter does with limited resources and will take notice and help the shelter out the best they can until other options are available. Too bad every shelter cant get the help they so desperately need.

The animal shelter should have red the rules better.This lawsuit was started in 12-06!Why did this shelter think that it was above the rules?Or did they just think zootoo wouldn't find out?I don't blame him one bit for suing.I was in the shelter and heard people say,"Be sure not to turn around in the neighbor's drive.He will yell at you and pull you out of the car!"This shelter was trying to make him look like a madman!I find him and his wife very nice and friendly.It is called slander,something you people do quite a bit when someone doesn't agree 100%!!

Very interesting that you know when this lawsuit was filed. If the shelter people are so bad, what were you doing there to begin with? Spying? From what I saw with him staking out his property line on Zootoo day, I wouldnt doubt they were actually trying to warn people to stay off his property, which I'm sure he would have appreciated.
The shelter checked with Zootoo and were advised they were ok to participate. If they weren't why would they have spent all the time and effort to do something they knew they couldn't possibly win? Doesnt make sense to me. Also, if Zootoo thought they were trying to pull something, why would they come to the shelter anyway to check them out for their review? They would have just said see ya.
I would have thought that the neighbor would have delighted in having the shelter win a makeover. They could have done lots of things to improve the place which would have made it better for him. I dont think someone thought this through all the way. Too bad. A loss for him and the animals.

No,it is not interesting at all,how anyone would know when the suit was filed,since anyone can access the information on the web or can call the local courthouse to get the info!And the public WAS invited to your little party.And I truly doubt zootoo,said,"Oh,you have a lawsuit?Well,it is against our rules,but since you guys are so special,go ahaed it will be ok!"!!!The rules DO apply to your shelter,too,do they not?If that was the case,that zootoo said to proceed with the contest with a lawsuit,then you would not have been kicked out!!!And what is so wrong with the man staking out his prop?You shouldn't have to be warned to stay off of his prop. you should know to respect boundaries,but I guess since you all believe that you are above rules or that rules don't apply to you......you may not understand that!!!Hopefully,next time,you all will think it through better!TOO BAD!!

Got it now. You DONT support this shelter getting the makeover, yet you came to the party anyway. Makes sense to me now.
And yes, TOO BAD the only ones going to suffer are the animals from West Plains.

Nice way to avoid the questions!Nice way to assume the situation!I did support the shelter but now have second thoughts,because I do not think that shelter or anyone has the right to so freely speculate,fabricate and defame a person like you have done Willard Shnurbusch,among others!That is the biggest problem there.People are too ready to assume gossip and suspitions as facts without any true basis or factual evidence!It is soooo third grade. I cannot support people who think it is okay to bash people just because they "think" or just want to!Just because you have a cause does not excuse you from personal responsibility for the way you act or justify treating people badly!!

I agree use your names and have constructive dialogue not bashing. I talked with some West Plains folks and the lawsuit is a joke, one mean man out to hurt a good organization. You have our support and I hope we can team up and give a helping hand in the future. We all are in this together no matter if you are in the Ozarks, St. Louis or New York. Woof!
