Review Details
I have been going to WPRAS since it opened on St. Louis Street years ago. If you have never been, please drop in! You will enjoy the animals and may find the perfect one to brighten your life! The volunteers are nice and helpful, and you can always find a bargain at the thrift store that helps support the cats and dogs!
West Plains is very fortunate to have WPRAS! I live on one of the first county roads out of town so we see lots of unwanted animals dumped to fend for themselves. I am owned by 2 of these great dogs, and have found homes for others, but some are not so lucky. (I always wonder why someone would throw away a perfectly good dog or cat!) That's where WPRAS comes in. They will never turn away an animal if they have the space. Often they are full. There is a need for more space and funds to care for the animals until they find a home.
Trish and her volunteers are friendly, compassionate and dedicated! They run a very clean, animals first NO KILL shelter! I have seen many disabled animals in the shelter and several have been adopted! The animals are also spayed or neutered before they leave the shelter! It is a win - win situation! The animals need homes and our lives are enriched by their love and loyalty!
Trish is very knowledgeable, and had she not chosen to dedicate her life to saving the lost and unwanted animals in this area would probably be a DMV today!
I have wondered how they continue to do what they do at WPRAS. It is a HUGE undertaking to clean, feed, medicate, do laundry and find the money to do all of this for the animals EVERY DAY! There is no pay, no vacation, and no days off! There is only one answer. It is for the love of the precious animals!
