What the shelter lacks in appearance, it makes up for with a caring and experienced staff and a rich history born of animal activism.
Some of my fondest childhood memories come from this shelter. Whenever my folks would take me there, I'd get to hang out with the kitties. One of our many cats (in my lifetime) came from this shelter. And though her life was short, she was a rich addition to our lives.
I hope it wins this contest because they truly deserve to make the place even better than it already is.
