I went to visit Stray Rescue a few days ago. I was amazed. I did not want to leave. They have two shelters and I was at the smaller one. VERY small. They had 3 litters of pups, some, their eyes were not even open yet. Most Shelters I know would have put these pregnant dogs down. They do not just take in strays that they "find", they actually go out and hunt down dogs wondering the streets, get them vetted no matter what the cost, because Randy believes EVERY animal is worth saving and every animal deserves to be loved. Alot of shelters will put down a pitbull as soon as they come in, Not at Stray Rescue. I think Stray Rescue is one of the most deserving shelters out there. They need more room and if they win, so many more animals will be saved, and isn't that what this is all about, the animals?

Wonderful shelter review. I'm glad Randy and The Stray Rescue won the Shelter Makeover Contest. There were nineteen other prizes, one of which the shelter I support, won, but I know St. Louis and the number of homeless dogs, cats and people that wander the streets and riverfront, scavenge and do what they must to survive. That Randy and his fellow wonderful hearted volunteers go out and find, care for and find homes for the animal part of this population is just a miracle. God bless them, one and all!
