I only witnessed Stray Rescue at Kennelwood. A few dogs at a time would stay at Kennelwood. Stray Rescue sent in volunteers (after a while) to play with the dogs.
They give dogs a chance that may not normally get one! :-)
They host all kinds of adoption events, especially at Petsmart and Greyhound related ones.

Stray Rescue rocks! We took one of their dogs temporarily, they provided food, a pet carrier, toys, and support. When he ate part of our couch, they bent over backwards to help us teach him better manners! He is now with us permanently and he is the greatest dog! He just needed the chance that stray rescue gave him! The founder was his rescuer and he is just awesome!
