Marion Regional HS
Pros: no-kill policy, extremely clean, virtually no offensive smell compared to some pet stores even, animals appear very comfortable and taken care of
Cons: currently office hours are by appointment only or catch as catch can

Review Details
I've visited pet stores that smelled horrible and they at least have a full time staff of paid employees who are supposed to clean there. This shelter is working off of volunteer's donated time and they smell and look better than any place I've ever seen - shelter, store, pound, etc. How? Volunteers are at the shelter cleaning and visiting with the animals 4 hours a day 7 days a week 52 weeks a year. Including 5am on Christmas morning.
Every cage has not just food and water, but also blankets and/or toys and/or cat grass. The cages are good sized and every animal looks quite happy and healthy.
