Pros: Wonderful people taking care of wonderful pets!!!
Cons: none
I found the love of my lifetime at this shelter, His name was Jasper, but I renamed him Chance. I gave him a Chance as well as him giving me one! I adopted him in 2002. Chance was a pitbull and when I first met him, he was attacking the cage that held him in. Well, I first shied away from him, but when he settled down and then sat down, he cocked his head and looked at me. That was all it took!! I fell in love with him! The staff at the Humane Society of Barron County let me take him outside and walk him. Well Chance showed me what a smart old dog he was, he sat when told, shook hands very willingly and I then realized his training was far from done. In the next 4 years I owned Chance, he became my constant companion. We drove to Arizona together, he learned how to speak and say Ma-Ma and of course , I Love you! We visited HSBC a few times and he went inside with sheer enthusiasm, he loved those folks in there, as much as they loved him. He was the best dog I have ever and will ever own. Unfortunately Chance has passed on, his ashes will be buried with me, but he will never be forgotten. His photos adorn almost every room in my home, as well as my childrens. He was a true blessing and I will always, ALWAYS hold the highest regard for the kind folks at HSBC!! They could have put Chance down, being that he was a Pit Bull, but they saw in him something that only true animal lovers could see, they saw a truly magnificent animal that deserved a second chance!!
