The Humane Society of North Iowa is a no kill shelter located in Mason City, Iowa. We are a non-profit shelter with 501(c)(3) tax status. Established in 1959, we have recently moved into a brand new facility adjoining the Mason City Stray Animal Shelter.
Our mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals by educating the people of North Iowa about how to live with and care for companion animals. We work to find loving homes for adoptable animals released to our care and return lost animals to their owners whenever possible.
The Humane Society of North Iowa serves the City of Mason City, Iowa, and the areas surrounding it in Cerro Gordo County. Cerro Gordo County is in North Central Iowa. In addition to Cerro Gordo County, the Humane Society of North Iowa serves the surrounding counties of North Iowa.
