Review Details

I have adopted all FIVE of my companion animals from the Bloomington Animal Shelter and I could not be happier. I have been involved with the shelter for more than two years and the place just keeps getting better. The resources available for adopters during and after the adoption are excellent - the staff is very knowledgeable in helping you select an animal and Dr. Jo Liska, the animal behaviorist, is available to help solve any behavior problems that may crop up in the new owner's home. The animals are happy and well-cared for, which makes for a great adoption experience. I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a new pet go to this shelter to find him or her - you won't regret it!

I am new to this site and the review process, but the review would sure make me consider this shelter for my pet adoption needs. Many times persons have the wrong impression of an animal shelter. It is considered a dark and cheerless place that animals go to die. Everything possible should be done to correct this faulty image so that people would consider going there to adopt a pet. Also, the belief is that there are only mixed breeds and that the animals are cast offs that nobody would want. It may take a long time, but articles such as this must continue until the perception is corrected and people think of the shelter as the FIRST source for animals.
Keep up the good work.
