This shelter has come a long way from its low point a few years ago. Despite this, like other shelters in the Parkersburg-Marietta area, they desperately need more money that just isn't available.
I wouldn't recommend this as the first choice for a pet adoption, but I would recommend it second.
This shelter still has a long road ahead, but it's staff works hard to make improvements and they should be commended for that.
Finally, the animals are treated well and any family would love the pet they adopted from this shelter.
