Nice, clean facility - helpful staff

Pros: Clean facility with nice, small room for visit
Cons: None
My son adopted his first Beagle from the Humane Society. He had been seized during an abuse case - was given up, with about 10 other Beagles - all in very bad physical/emotional shape. By the time he came home with us - physically he was in great shape, an well on his way to becoming a perfect member of the family.
The staff was very helpful - allowing my son to visit with as many of the Beagles as he liked - on a one-on-one, in a nice, secluded room.

I've volunteered there and that is one thing the staff are fantastic about. I tend to walk/groom/spend time with the abused case animals or skittish animals and they allow me to do so without any pressure. Some shelters want their volunteers to get around to all animals and try to limit your time with a specific animal, but they realize that while all the animals need love and attention, some need a bit more to increase their chances of adoption. It always makes me happy to know when one of the animals I've worked with have found forever homes and great owners who will further help cure their previous emotional stress.
