Pros: Cats all seemed well cared for and clean
Cons: Many sick with "colds"
I visited most reciently on Weds., 1/23/07. Clean cages
and very loving staff.

I didn't find a kitten to take home but have my eye on a guy that had a cold....

Unfortunately, with a no kill shelter, the cats do get colds quickly. It is like a classroom full of kids, one gets it, they all get it. Shelters that euthanize animals do not have colds running through so much because as soon as the animal gets sick, they put it down. It is a sad battle! When Cat Welfare gets a lot of cats taken in in a short period of time, the cats tend to get sick very quickly. The cats do not have shots before they come in to help fight off the viruses. Then, they have to go through a lot of stress adjusting to a new atmosphere and on top of that, they have to all be spayed and neutered. With all that stress, plus the surgery, they usually get sick very quickly. Just like humans.
