Review Details
If you have never visited Cat Welfare Association you are missing out on a feline lover's haven! A limited intake facility, CWA does not euthanize for space and relies on adoptions to help take in more cats. Started in 1945, CWA is one of the oldest animal welfare organizations in Columbus, Ohio and the first dedicated solely to cats. Adoption fees are lower than most other shelters in town and you get the most bang for your buck at CWA. Tests, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter surgery are all included in the low adoption fees. This is how serious CWA is about the cats in their care - they offer a lifetime return on any cat adopted from CWA. No matter the reason or the amount of time that has passed - they will take a CWA cat back. These people really care about the welfare of their cats!
Free roaming cats make this a fun shelter to visit and pick out a new member of the family. There are also caged cats, dozing in little kitty blankets, and a shy cat area for those not thrilled with having close to 300 roommates. Cats of every color, size and age can be found - something for everyone! The hardest part is not taking them all home!
An organization that relies solely on donations from the community, CWA has lots of creative fundrasiers. The Catique is an upscale garage sale open every Saturday from 9-3 where you can find amazing deals. CWA also partners up with local businesses including PetPeople and National Tire & Battery. They are passionate about raising money for the cats in their care!
So if you want to see a shelter that is inspiring rather than depressing come visit Cat Welfare Association. They are open every day 11am-3:30pm. Check out their website which includes their newsletter, The Feline Forum, and many programs and ways that you can help at www.catwelfareohio.com.

I love your black cat. How cute they are. I get black cat calendars every year. They are very special to me.
Evertyhing you write is excellent. My four cat welfare cats were always healthy and happy. They all were great from the start.
I did not know about the Catique. Cute name! I will come and visit on Saturday.
