Pros: it is a place to take a stray, with the chance of getting a home
Cons: messy, sad state
Franklin County Dog Shelter does try to find homes for their dogs....but sometimes you have to wonder walking in there if anybody cares. The place is an absolute wreck. The dogs are not happy. The staff seems worn down and careless. The only positive thing I really see with this shelter is their foster programs. They do try to get the dogs into a good home.... But then you have to wonder, are they turning down homes that may be suitable for a homeless dog for measely reasons. They could use some better goals and policies.

It is a shame that such a place is so overwhelmed that they cannot be efficient with what they are doing for the animals. They may just need a better shelter manager or just some fresh ideas....more staff maybe or a better design. It is nice that there is a place to take dogs to besides the humane society....but it could be better.
